Field Seminars

In FY 2017-18, Alan L. Freed Associates is offering a menu of one-day field programs that can be presented at military installations around the United States. The format for each field program is identical to the programs held on Capitol Hill (featuring five presentations a day). Please note that each program can be modified to address specific areas of concern to individual agencies/organizations.

Program Description

The world has shrunk and become more interdependent. As a result, many issues transcend national boundaries and cannot be easily subsumed under traditional geo-political categories. This seminar will address great power rivalries and the regional conflicts that are shaped by social, political, economic, and even planetary forces. This one-day program will bring together established experts and commentators, as well as key players in the national and international arenas, to evaluate current crises and policies within the context of on-going and emerging transnational trends.

Seminar Topics

  • The New Emerging Threats: A Global Assessment
  • Civil Conflict, Economic Collapse, and Mega-Migrations
  • Globalization and Its Discontents: A Crisis in Liberal Democracy
  • The Rise of 21st Century Socialism: Implications for U.S. National Security
  • Terror and Transnational Crime: A Global Overview
  • Transnational Cyber Issues: The New National Security Frontier
  • Shanghai, Mumbai, Dubai, or Good-bye: The Emerging Market Transformations
  • American Exceptionalism and the Dilemma of Global Leadership

Very interesting group of speakers! Best seminar/program I’ve attended in 34 + years.

P.F., Air Force • Leadership in a Transformational Age Seminar July 2016

I benefited from the left-leaning, democratic perspectives that juxtaposed the conservative perspectives. Keep it balanced—it was awesome!

M.P., Air Force • Enterprise Perspective Seminar October 2016

Format is terrific! Lots of speakers from across government enterprise and no power points. Plenty of time for engaging dialogue. I love to hear what experts and insiders have to say about out WDC enterprise.

J. Haywood, Wright Patterson Air Force Base

Fantastic program; great approach to the group in providing interesting/informative, though-provoking information. The day has been well worth my time.

P.Z., Joint Enabling Capabilities Command • Professional Development Course February 2017

Absolutely enjoyed the program's overall structure. The moderator did a great job of weaving the different topics
